Your home. Your data

When it’s your home, it’s all about your privacy. That’s why choosing the right indoor camera is so important. Eve Cam is the first camera designed exclusively for Apple HomeKit Secure Video, enabling you to securely store activity detected by Eve Cam in iCloud. It was built from the ground up to protect your privacy.

Protect your home and privacy...

...with direct access.

When you view the video stream from your Eve Cam while out and about, you communicate back to the base directly over an end-to-end encrypted connection. Your camera's live stream never reaches the cloud – not even the iCloud.

...with secure recording history.

You choose what and when you want to record – Apple TV or HomePod then take over the task of analyzing in the privacy of your own four walls whether it's a person, pet or vehicle in the picture.

...with no registering required.

Eve does not harvest your personal data by forcing you to set up an account or register your accessories – neither for Eve Cam nor for any other Eve product. Inviting Eve into your home is a purely personal affair between each accessory and you.

Security has many dimensions

No one home?

Protect your home from intruders: As soon as Eve Cam detects motion, you’ll get a notification on your iPhone. That way you can take immediate action if there’s an unwanted visitor while at the same time recording evidence.

Kids back home?

Check whether your kids have made it home safely. They're probably fine, but a sneak peak at home is simply reassuring.

What's your four-legged friend up to?

Is he taking a cat nap or destroying the new couch? If you're not worried about your pet, simply turn off notifications for pet activity.

Windows closed and TV off?

Is everything ok at your vacation home? Often all it takes is a quick look inside just to be sure.

It’s only on when you want it to be

No matter how you use Eve Cam, you decide when it should be on and how it should operate. Set Eve Cam to automatically deactivate when everyone is home, for example. And control when you want to receive notifications. Apple TV, HomePod, or HomePod mini running as a home hub intelligently determines when a person, animal, or vehicle is in the video.

The clearly visible status LED always tells you if the camera is on, off or recording.

Doors open, lights on

Whether your camera’s video stream is on or not, you can use the integrated motion sensor to turn on lights and other devices. Set Eve Cam to turn on lights when the front door opens, for instance.

It’s a nice way to be welcomed home – and to scare away would-be intruders.

Heavyweight functions. Made lightweight

The Eve app takes ease of use for your smart home to an entirely new level. In the fullscreen overview, watch simultaneous live video from Eve Cam together with your other HomeKit-enabled cameras. Advanced rules let you automate your smart home exactly the way you want. And the motion events list gives you the perfect overview of when motion was detected – regardless of whether video recording was enabled at the time.

Record on demand

Eve Cam exclusively supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video, enabling you to securely store activity detected by Eve Cam in iCloud. HomeKit Secure Video requires iCloud+ (not included). iCloud+ with 50 GB storage supports one camera, iCloud+ with 200 GB storage supports up to five cameras, and iCloud+ with 2 TB storage supports an unlimited number of cameras. Camera recordings don’t count against your iCloud+ storage limit. Recordings are saved for ten days and then deleted automatically. If you want to hold on to a recording, you have the option to save it permanently.

Wi-Fi network settings

Make sure that either the 2.4 gigahertz band or the 5 gigahertz band is enabled on your router. The DHCP function must be activated on the router. Authentication via MAC addresses must be deactivated.

All WiFi-based devices with HomeKit support require the Bonjour protocol (Multicast) to work. Make sure that Bonjour and Multicast are enabled on the WiFi router and additional access points.

Network tools such as "Storm Control" and others, allow multicast to be restricted and therefore Bonjour. Disable this setting. So-called Powerline/Powerlink adapters also restrict Bonjour or do not allow it. These access points are not suitable for the use of HomeKit-based WiFi devices.

Good to know (FAQ)

  1. About HomeKit Secure Video
Eve Cam supports HomeKit Secure Video, allowing you to securely save the events your camera detects. Using the Apple Home app, you can view your camera’s live feed or recordings on your iPhone at any time.
  2. Not able to add Eve Cam to your home?
Please make sure that DHCP is enabled on your router. Authentication via MAC addresses must be deactivated. WPA2 must be activated, not the legacy WPA/WPA2 mode. After adjusting any settings, please restart your router and wait a few of minutes. Afterward, please reset Eve Cam.
  3. How does Eve Cam detect motion and trigger recordings?
Eve Cam features a dedicated infrared motion sensor to trigger motion alerts, automation and recordings. If you have configured people/pet/vehicle recognition, any motion detected by the infrared motion sensor will cause the video footage to be sent to your Apple TV or HomePod to intelligently determine whether your recording criteria is met. Please note that while the infrared motion sensor can "see" in the dark, it can't see through glass. So if there's a glass door to your front porch or there's a window looking out to your patio or yard, Eve Cam won't detect any motion behind it and thus also not trigger notifications, automation or recordings.

Compatible with your ecosystem.

Straight out of the box, Eve accessories work with your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch. Your HomePod, HomePod mini or Apple TV will serve as a home hub, seamlessly automating your accessories and keeping you connected while out and about.
